Cartier Sizes and What Replicas Copy
The genuine Ballon Bleu comes in 28 mm, 33 mm, 36 mm, and 42 mm cases, plus a 44 mm chronograph. Steel cases, sapphire crystal, Roman numerals on a guilloché dial, and a crown set with a blue synthetic spinel are the parts buyers check first. Replica builds copy those parts. Case sizes on replica listings match the genuine diameters, but sellers measure the case without the crown. A 36 mm listing measures 36 mm across the case and 39 mm with the crown.

US Law and Customs
18 U.S.C. 2320 makes trafficking in counterfeit goods a federal crime. Penalties for a first offense reach 10 years in prison and a $2,000,000 fine for an individual. US Customs and Border Protection can seize counterfeit watches at the border. The personal-use exemption that covers some imports does not cover goods that infringe a trademark. A watch seized by CBP is destroyed. The buyer gets no refund from the carrier.
