A fake Rotonde Tourbillon V6 is a replica of the Cartier Rotonde de Cartier Tourbillon, made by the V6 factory and sold through replica dealers.
It copies the outside of the watch. It does not copy the movement. The Cartier original runs caliber 9452 MC, a hand-wound flying tourbillon with Geneva Seal certification. The replica runs a Chinese tourbillon movement. Bridge layout, engraving, and finishing differ from the original.
What the V6 label means
V6 is a factory code used in the replica trade. It is not a Cartier reference number. Cartier has no V6 model. Dealers use the code to separate batches. Batches change without notice. Two watches from the same seller can come from different runs. Ask for photos of the actual unit, not catalog images.
Case and dial
The original Rotonde tourbillon case measures 42 mm and comes in 18k pink gold or 18k white gold. The replica case measures 42 mm in steel with gold plating. Plated cases weigh less than gold cases of the same size. Thickness on replica units often runs 1 mm to 2 mm over the original.
Cartier prints a hidden mark inside the VII numeral on the dial. Replica dials often omit it or place it wrong. Check this detail on a macro photo before you pay.
The crown carries a blue cabochon. On the original it is a sapphire. On replica units it is glass or spinel. Color and cut vary by batch.
Movement
The original caliber 9452 MC beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and carries the Geneva Seal. The seal covers finishing rules on bridges, angles, and screw heads. No replica movement holds that certification. Replica tourbillon movements are hand-wound, run at 21,600 vph in most batches, and hold about 40 hours of power reserve.
Caseback engraving on replica units is shallow compared with the original. Serial numbers repeat across units from the same batch.
