Short answer
"v2" is the second build of a replica IW371768. Sellers use the label to separate a revised case and dial from the first run. The label carries no standard. Two sellers can ship different watches and both call them v2. Judge the watch on four points: case thickness, subdial position, movement type, and date print.
Replica IW371768 v10: What the Version Label Means and What to Check
The reference watch
IW371768 belongs to the IWC Portugieser Chronograph block. That block covers 41 mm steel chronographs with two counters: elapsed minutes at 12 and running seconds at 6. The date window sits at 4:30. IWC fits calibre 69355, a column wheel chronograph with a 46 hour power reserve and 28,800 vph. Case thickness on the steel model is about 13.1 mm. Water resistance is 30 m. Confirm the dial color and strap for IW371768 on the IWC site. The 3717xx numbers cover many variants and public lists do not name every one.
What v2 changes
Revisions in a second run target the parts that were wrong in the first.
- Case: thinner mid case, closer to 13 mm
- Dial: subdial spacing, index height, print weight
- Movement: swap from a modified 7750 to a clone of the 69355 layout
- Hands: minute hand length and counterweight shape
Ask the seller for a photo with the caseback removed. A 7750 rotor and a three quarter plate look nothing alike. If the seller cannot supply that photo, treat the movement claim as unverified.

Movement: the number that matters
The A7750 is a 30.4 mm movement with running seconds at 9 in stock form. Watchmakers add a transfer plate to move the seconds to 6. That plate adds height and a known failure point. A clone of the 69355 keeps the layout native, so the case can sit thinner. Expect the clone to cost more. Expect both to run within about 15 seconds a day when new. Neither holds that rate for long.
Four checks
- Thickness. Ask for a caliper photo. Over 14 mm is a tell at arm's length.
- Subdials. The gap between the two counters should match the gap in a reference photo.
- Date. The 4:30 window should sit under a magnifier. Font weight matters more than size.
- Chronograph. Start and stop the center seconds ten times. The hand should return to 12 on each reset.
Price
Replica chronographs of this type sell between $250 and $600. A v2 with a clone movement sits at the top of that range. Prices below $180 point to a 7750 build in a thick case.
Limits
No replica carries IWC service. Parts do not interchange with the original. Resale is near zero, and import rules differ by country. A watchmaker can service a 7750 build. The clone movement is harder to source parts for.
